Amy Winehouse The UK Pop Star Found Dead At Home

Troubled UK singer, Amy Winehouse, was found dead today at the age of 27.

July 23, 2011- The often troubled pop star from the UK was found dead in her home in London on Saturday. It was reported that paramedics received a call of emergency just after 4:00 pm London time but after arriving they pronounced her dead.

The cause of death has not been determined. She was just 27. The police will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident but at this time it was being left unexplained. Universal Republic, Winehouse’s American label, said: “We are saddened at the loss of an immensely gifted musician, performer and artist.”

She recently cancelled her tour for the summer that was to be across Europe after performing below par in Belgrade the capital of Serbia. She was heavily booed by the crowd upon arriving late and staggered throughout her performance. Since 2006 this kind of erratic behavior has been more of the standard than the exception for the pop star.

Her first album was in 2003 titled Frank and contained neo-soul music with a touch of jazz. Her album on 2006 title Back to Black was more R&B of the 1960s era. That album and some of the singles won numerous accolades at the Grammy Awards in 2008 including record and song of the year for You Know I’m No Good and Rehab.
