The entertainer, who this year turned 83 announced early that he was battling the disease but vowed he would return again next year to enjoy his 75th year in the entertainment business.
He announced to his fans, “I have bladder cancer, but thankfully that no longer equals a death sentence. People everyday get through cancer, kicking it and winning more often each year and I planned on being one of the winners.”
The singer, famed for his rendition of Moon River, missed performances that had been planned this fall with what at the time was an unknown medical problem. The theater also said he most likely would not fulfill his holiday schedule.

His career has brought him three platinum and 18 gold albums.
