Apple is being rumoured to introduce the iPad 3 in early 2012.
August 19, 2011- The computer giant is rumored to being getting ready to launch the iPad 3 in early 2012. The big difference in the new iPad will be the quality of the display. The new display is said to have doubled the amount of resolution of the iPad 2.
The dimensions (9.7 inch screen) will remain the same but the resolution will increase to 1536 x 2,048. Insiders have said that Apple has already lined up the component suppliers for the new iPad and will start production as early as October with a pre order by Apple of over 1.5 million to be shipped by the end of 2011.
In the second quarter of 2010 Apple set the standard for the tablet in the industry with the iPad launching and then launched iPad 2 less than 12 months later. Ipad 2 improved certain aspects of the first iPad but did not adjust the display resolution significantly and that has been a constant complaint about the unit.
Apple still holds a strong grip over the tablet market with over an 80% share but Android based tablets are taking bits and pieces out of Apple’s share. Even though Apple has a comfortable market share lead, they are making changes to the new iPad since its competitors are ramping up and getting ready to launch even more sophisticated products.
