June 12, 2012- Glenn Beck, the popular radio host, has signed a new deal worth $100 million. The deal was signed with Premiere Networks Inc. The contract calls for the popular host to have his program distributed for five more years. Premiere is a Clear Channel Communications unit and along with Beck announced the new agreement on Monday, but no financial details were released.
Until April of 2011, Beck, known for his conservative personality, hosted his own show on television on Fox News. He left after the show started to see a huge drop in ratings. His radio show however, has been able to maintain a very loyal following and is growing at a rate of 50%. Over the past five years, the show has added close to 200 stations.
Beck’s show is currently heard on 400 stations and is at present the third most popular in the U.S. The most popular radio shows in the U.S. are also conservative commentators, with Rush Limbaugh in first place and Sean Hannity in second.
Beck’s own company, Mercury Radio Arts and Premiere, have also extended a deal where Premiere represents all the Web properties of Beck that include GBTV a streaming network along with TheBlaze.com an information and news site, Markdown.com and GlennBeck.com. Premiere is in charge of handling all advertising and sponsors for the sites.
