Curbside Check-In Expanding At American

American Airlines is improving it's curbside Check-In service.

October 21, 2011- American Airlines has announced it will expand the curbside Check-In service to give its customers enhanced customer service. The service will be expanded to include internationally traveling passengers. Before the expansion, only domestic passengers could check their luggage with a skycap.

The expanding service by American has taken place since September in 28 airports with current domestic Curbside Check-In services. Those airports include some of American’s largest markets such as Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas/Ft. Worth, John F. Kennedy in New York and Miami. Before November 1, an additional 31 U.S. airports will be providing the new services.

The Senior Vice President of American’s Airport Service, Tom Del Valle said, “Offering our international passengers Curbside Check-In is just one more example of how American is expanding its services to better meet the desires and needs of those traveling abroad.”

With curbside baggage checking, the customer can book and pay for reservations and check-in from the convenience of his home, leave their bags with an American skycap and head to the security checkpoints and then to their flight’s gate. The service offers flexibility for those with multiple bags or those that want to bypass standing in line at the check in counter. The service is valid for customers using electronic tickets, online check in and those with reserved or without pre-reserved seating.
