Samuel L. Jackson is mad at a NY critic who didn't like his new film "The Avengers".
May 4, 2012- Samuel L. Jackson, one of the cast of The Avengers, the latest Marvel Studios’ release was upset at a film critic over the critic’s critique of the movie. Jackson sent tweets from his Twitter account to A.O Scott, a New York Times critic who gave a mediocre review of the film.
Jackson plays Nick Fury in the new film and tweeted that the critic needed a new job and everyone should help him to find one. One job the actor said the critic could actually do correctly.
Scott, in his review, said The Avengers, is a snappy little comedy dressing up as something else. That something else said Scott was an ATM for the movie studio and Walt Disney. Scott was very praising of the wit brought to the film by Joss Whedon the director, but felt the effects driven large set pieces were cumbersome.
Scott did not respond directly to the tweets of Jackson, by did address the comment via a tweet to the music critic of the New Yorker Alex Ross. Scott tweeted Ross saying, “Thanks for the kind words, but I am more flattered than threatened, which may prove my point in a different way.”
