The new Kindle tablet by Amazon is coming up strong on leader iPad.
December 3, 2011- After just two weeks of being in the market, the Kindle Fire by Amazon has already caused a commotion in the increasingly competitive and popular tablet market. The new 7-inch Fire is projected to move into second place behind the iPad in the global tablet business. The Fire should accomplish this feat sometime during the current fourth quarter of 2011.
Amazon will ship nearly 4 million Fire tablets during the last quarter of 2011 said analysts. That figure will give the e-commerce giant a 13.8% market share for global tablet shipments that will surpass the current 4.8% that Samsung currently holds.
Nevertheless, the Fire is still far behind Apple’s iPad 2 that is #1 in the world and has over a 65.5% market share. Analysts say the rapid ascent made by the Kindle Fire will help to expand the entire tablet market. It is estimated the market will enjoy a 273% hike in tablet shipments over last year.
Many experts are saying there is finally a true competitor for the iPad. They say it has taken close to two years for that to happen but finally a tablet is on the market that can compete with Apple.
It is predicted that over 64.6 million tablets will be shipped globally during 2011. That figure is over 4 million higher than originally estimated in August.
