
Actor Michael Madsen has been charged with child endangerment.
March 12, 2012- Michael Madsen, the star of Reservoir Dogs, said a misunderstanding took place between he and his son. The actor was recently arrested for allegedly fighting with his son after being charged for felony child endangerment. Friday night, Madsen, 54, was behind bars after police arrested him in his home in Malibu. On Saturday, police released him on $100,000 bond.
Friday afternoon police were called to a family dispute at the actor’s Malibu residence. When police arrived, they noticed Madsen’s son, whose age has not been released, was injured. The boy did not require any medical attention said a police spokesman.
Just before 4:00 pm, police officially arrested Madsen and took him to jail. People close to the matter say the actor appeared to have been drinking alcohol. A photo taken during his booking process shows the actor with disheveled hair and unshaven.
Perry Wander, Madsen’s lawyer, claimed the disagreement between the actor and his son was set off when the actor discovered his son smoking marijuana and tried to stop him. Wander said the incident was a private family matter and requested the family been given its privacy.
Madsen is well known for his roles on-screen in Donnie Brasco and Kill Bill. He said everything was fine as he was leaving the police station. Nevertheless, police said the charges against Madsen for cruelty to a minor and child endangerment stand.
