Apple is releasing a new iPhone in the fall.
June 22, 2011- Apple Inc will introduce a new iPhone in September that will have a stronger chip to process data and a more advanced camera. The new device will have the A5 processor the chip that was added to the iPad2 making it very powerful. There will also be an eight megapixel camera which is three megapixels higher than in the previous iPhone, the iPhone4. A higher resolution screen is being tested for the iPad similar to one used on the iPhone 4.
The iPhone is Apple’s best selling item and accounted for almost 50% of sales for last quarter. A faster chip will help by providing quicker downloads helping it vie with the other devices that rival competitors are introducing and are powered by Android software by Google Inc.
The iPhones sales and gains in the mobile device market are partly the reason why Research in Motion, Ltd. forecasted a sales decline last week for the first time ever for a quarter. The new iPhone will be powered by the iOS5 operating system that was previewed at the developer’s conference in San Francisco last month. It will feature photo sharing, improved messaging and will be designed to run on all the line of Apple mobile devices.
Up until this past year the iPod, iPhones and iPad used slightly different types of iOS.
