Travel app maker Orbitz has launched a major update for iPad users.
June 24, 2012- Orbitz has announced it has re-launched the popular Orbitz Flights, Cars, Hotels for iPhone App. It has added major improvements in speed, filtering capabilities, new tools for mapping and a powerful sort. The Orbitz app has been completely rebuilt and is the only native, streamlined in-app search and then book experience for hotel rooms, car rentals and flights.
A study on consumer usability was released and found the new updated app to be faster and easier to search and book a trip than any of the other leading travel apps, desktop sites or mobile websites tested. In the study recently completed, consumers could search and then book an entire trip in only seven minutes. That was twice the speed, as the average of all the competitors that were tested.
The study found that the new App from Orbitz is twice as fast as the other competitors on iPhone and faster than Android, iPad and PC competitors that were tested. All of the consumers were able to successfully complete the tasks in the study on the app from Orbitz, compared to a failure rate of 40% on the aggregate for competitors. In addition, over 90% of the consumers who participated in the study gave the new app a positive review while a 30% positive rating was given for the search and book experience in apps from Orbitz competitors.
