Spider Man Star Arrested At Comic Con

One of the actors in the new Spiderman movie was arrested at a comic convention in San Diego.

July 24, 2011- Rhys Ifans, one of the stars of the new Spider Man movie, was arrested and faces battery charges following a run in with a security guard. Rhys plays Dr. Curt Connors, a villain in Spider Man and at one time he was engaged to wed the beautiful Sienna Miller.

He was going to appear on a panel of guests in San Diego Friday at the convention. He also was there to help promote the movie.

Just before the show was to start, Rhys with some of this entourage went outside to have a smoke, and when they tried to get back inside one of his group did not have their proper ID badge. A discussion ensued and Rhys then pushed the guard and swore at her. She responded by simply arresting him.

A spokeswoman for the San Diego Police, Andra Brown said: “his breath smelled of alcohol and he was aggressive, belligerent, abusive and pushed a female member of the security personnel.”

He does not face any time in jail. He may be ordered to pay a small fine or if he chooses he can face a judge in court and fight the charges, but that scenario is highly unlikely. The police spokesperson told reporters that Ifans said: “the U.S. sucks and I do not want to return.”
