
TV producing legend Jim Paratore is dead at age 58.
May 30, 2012- The well regarded TV executive and producer, Jim Paratore died on Tuesday in France after he suffered a heart attack while riding a bicycle. Paratore was 58 when he died and spent most of his business career with Warner Bros. TV. At the time of his death, he was still associated with the studio in Burbank, California, where paraMedia, his production outlet had a deal.
Bruce Rosenblum, the Warner Bros. Television Group president said, “Our TV family has lost an exceptional talent and a creative colleague and friend in Jim.” Rosenblum concluded by saying, “Jim left a mark on our company that is indelible, as well as on each one of us who had the pleasure of working with him at some point over the last 26 years. Jim will be dearly missed both in and out of the television industry.”
Paratore was the president of Telepicture, a Warner Bros. Television production arm for 14 years until 2006. During his time as the president, he was involved heavily with creating and launching The Rosie O’Donnell Show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show and the Bachelor.
Before he joined Warner Bros. Television, Paratore was director of programming for several local television stations in Florida. His wife Jill and daughter Martinique survive Paratore.
