
A Virgin employee is suspected of leaking confidential information.
April 7, 2012- Virgin Atlantic said it has launched an internal investigation into claims that one of its employees had fed information of many celebrity clients to paparazzi. The list of celebrity clients was said to exceed 60 and include Sienna Miller and Madonna.
The employee was suspected of being a member of the airlines team that looked after clients that were high profile. That employee unexpectedly resigned after one of England’s newspapers tried to contact her over the allegations. She has been accused of releasing information about a number of different celebrity customers to Big Pictures, a photography agency based in London.
Rumor was the employee used a personal email account to send information such as flight numbers, arrival and departure information to Big Pictures. Virgin released a statement saying the accusations are very serious and an immediate investigation was launched.
The airline also said they had been in touch with the high profile clients that had been affected.
The employee for the airline also apparently told the paparazzi about flight information that concerned Russell Brand, Scarlett Johanson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Daniel Radcliffe, Robbie Williams, Rihanna, Princess Beatrice and footballer Ashley Cole.
The paparazzi have faced tough scrutiny of late due to their alleged intimidating, aggressive and sometimes illegal behavior.
